About Vorlage Race Club
A community race club built on development, mountain synergy, and volunteers — based at Centre Vorlage in Wakefield, Québec.
Our Philosophy
Development pipeline vs. pure performance.
VRC runs a development pipeline, not a win-at-all-costs factory. Every athlete — from first-turn Nancy Greene skiers to U16 circuit racers — follows a progression built on technical fundamentals, race-day confidence, and a genuine love of the sport. Results matter, but they follow development.
Season plans are individualized and multi-year: clear checkpoints each winter, honest feedback for families, and pathways that keep athletes skiing through high school — whether they chase provincial team nomination or simply love racing with friends.
Centre Vorlage Mountain Synergy
Our home hill’s layout is a training advantage: steep, short, and lit — purpose-built for high-repetition race development.
Night Floodlight Training
Floodlit sessions on Vorlage’s steep pitch mean high-repetition gate laps after school — no training day is lost to daylight limits.
Rapid Lap Efficiency
A short pitch layout keeps chair-line waits down and lap counts high, so every athlete racks up quality reps in a single evening.
Slalom on the Steeps
Dedicated steep terrain builds true edge angles early — the technical foundation of our racing pipeline.
Executive Board
VRC is governed by an elected volunteer board. Board elections are held at the fall general meeting and every director serves a two-year term.

Our Home Mountain: Centre Vorlage
Vorlage Race Club trains exclusively at Centre Vorlage — a compact, steep, and lit hill that is purpose-built for race development. VRC is the official competitive ski club partner of Centre Vorlage.
Night Training
Full floodlight coverage on our training pitch means after-school sessions that never end early — high-rep gate work even in mid-December.
Rapid Laps
A short pitch and fast chairline keep lift waits down and lap counts high, so athletes log quality repetitions every session.
Dedicated Race Trails
Purpose-set GS and slalom trails on true steeps build real edge angles — the technical foundation of the racing pipeline.
Get Your Hill Season Pass
Club members train on a hill pass — purchase yours directly from Centre Vorlage. Passes must be in hand before the first on-snow session.
Not quite ready for racing?
The Centre Vorlage Snow School builds the fundamentals young skiers need before joining a VRC program. The Nancy Greene stream expects athletes to already be comfortable with these skills:
- Skiing blue terrain confidently with linked turns
- Riding the chairlift unassisted
- Able to complete a full two-hour session with breaks
