Season Timetable
The five phases that structure every VRC season. Exact dates are confirmed with the zone and announced in member communications each fall.
Dryland & Fitness
September 14 – November 27, 2026
Weekly dryland conditioning, agility, and strength work. Pre-season fitness testing runs November 9–13.
On-Snow Start
November 28, 2026
First on-snow session of the season at Centre Vorlage. Equipment fitting and fundamentals for all programs.
Holiday Camps
December 28 – 31, 2026 · January 2, 2027
Full-day holiday race camps with intensive gate sets and video review. Registration opens in November.
OSZ Race Weeks
January 10 – March 20, 2027
Weekly club training plus the regional Ski Outaouais circuit. Race dates are confirmed with the zone in December.
End of Season
March 21 – 28, 2027
Club championships and banquet, season debriefs, and equipment return. Awards night wraps the year.

Training
Season Kickoff & On-Snow Assessment
Summit Valley — Vorlage Base Area
First day on snow for every program. Athletes check in at the VRC tent by 8:30 AM for group placement, then ski until 12:00 PM. Parents are welcome to watch from the base area deck; coffee and cinnamon buns will be served.
Meeting
Fall General Meeting
VRC Clubhouse, 12 Ridge Road
All members welcome. Agenda: 2026–2027 budget approval, race calendar review, coaching hires, and volunteer role sign-ups. Doors open at 6:30 PM; the meeting runs 7:00–8:30 PM. Remote attendance link will be emailed to members on December 1.
Social
Wax Clinic & Chili Social
VRC Clubhouse — Wax Room
Athletes and parents learn basic ski preparation from our coaching staff: brushing, structure, and applying glide wax for cold mornings. Chili supper at 6:00 PM, clinic 6:30–7:30 PM. Wax starter kits available for purchase at cost ($35).
Race
Club Giant Slalom #1
Summit Valley — Rabbit Run
The opening race of the 2026–2027 club series. U10 and up race two runs on a jury-approved GS course; Nancy Greene skiers run a single fun run at noon. Bib pickup 8:00–8:45 AM, first run 9:30 AM. Spectators can watch from the Rabbit Run fence line.
Race
Club Championships & Awards Banquet
Summit Valley — Vorlage Run
Season finale for all programs: a morning giant slalom on Vorlage Run followed by the awards banquet at the clubhouse. Bib pickup 8:30 AM, first run 10:00 AM, banquet lunch at 1:00 PM. Every participant receives a season pin; overall winners take home the Vorlage Cup.
